Illuminati Novice Cipher

illuminati-simple-cipher
Simple substitution cipher used by Illuminati Novice and Minervals. The numbers are from Ammy’s Handwriting.

Early 20th century Illuminati researcher René Le Forestier notes in his Les Illumines de Bavière et la Franc-Maçonnerie Allemande that the Bavarian Illuminati used this cipher most frequently because of its simplicity. (p. 53-54) They were many different versions of the glyph cipher used by Scottish Knights floating around and few members were able to memorize the keys.

The simple cipher was rarely used to write entire documents, but rather to hide the profane names and occupations of members.

Illuminati Music Cipher

illuminati-Music-cypher
Font based on the Bavarian Illuminati National Inspection Music Cipher from the Secret State Archives Prussian Cultural Center in Berlin and transcribed in The Secret School of Wisdom.

This font is still a bit wonky as it appears the horizontal lines (staff) don’t always line up. (Help? Contact)

This font was developed in collaboration with Illuminati scholar Reinhard Markner.

Illuminati Masonic Cipher

This cipher closely resembles the Pigpen cipher used in Masonry. The Seventh York Rite degree, Royal Arch, uses a cipher similar to the one used by the Illuminati. You can download the Royal Arch cipher font here.

Another Illuminati glyph cipher based on A History of Secret Societies by Idris Shah is available for download here. I have no idea if it’s authentic or not. It varies from the two Scottish Knight ciphers on this page but also has many resemblance.

The Scottish Knight cipher eventually fell into disuse by Illuminati members. The reasons given were that they were too many versions of the cipher floating around and cipher keys had become inconsistent. Members frequently made use of the simple cipher instead, but then usually only to obscure names and places.
